What’s Stirring Family Foundation strengthens families and expands learning opportunities through engaging, family-centered experiences that promote literacy, life skills, and wellness.

Family Literacy Initiative
Our Family Literacy Initiative brings together shared reading, movement, hands-on learning, and real-life experiences — including nutrition and family engagement — to create environments where literacy is active and meaningful.
What This Looks Like in Practice
Cooking Up Literacy (Flagship Program)
Our signature program combines literacy, math, and life skills through hands-on cooking experiences. Families engage in shared reading, measurement, and communication while preparing simple, meaningful recipes together.
This flagship model can be expanded to include family literacy events, nutrition education, and other learning experiences, or offered as a standalone program.
Family Literacy Events
Multi-family experiences that bring education, food, and fun together — creating space for families to connect, learn, and grow side by side.
Youth Development (In Development)
Currently, these sessions support the development of our youth authors, with a long-term vision to expand youth-centered learning opportunities within our community.
Nutrition & Life Skills Education
Interactive demonstrations and activities that introduce healthy living, practical life skills, and everyday learning through food and family engagement.
Educational materials, including cookbooks used within these experiences, are developed through Tectonic Village.
