5-Day Family Financial Literacy Challenge
Theme: “What Do You Already Have That Has Value?”
Today’s challenge helps youth and families discover that assets are MORE than money.
Assets can include:

📚 knowledge
🎨 creativity

🏡 businesses
🤝 relationships
⏳ time
đź§ ideas
The goal is to help youth recognize:
“I already have value.”
That mindset shift is powerful.
🎯 MAIN FAMILY QUESTION
What’s one skill or talent YOU have that could become an asset in the future?
Examples:
cooking
drawing

dancing
organizing

sports
👶 YOUNGER KIDS (Ages 4–7)
“Asset Treasure Hunt”
Activity
Walk around the house and find:

âś” something that helps your family
Examples:

musical instruments
Fun Questions
Ask:
“How does this help people?”
“Could this help someone someday?”
“What are YOU really good at?”
Creative Option
Draw:
“My Super Skills”
Kids draw themselves using their talents.
Examples:

🧒 UPPER ELEMENTARY (Ages 8–11)
“Future Asset Challenge”
Activity
Create:
“My Future Assets List”
Students write:
skills they already have
skills they want to learn
things they could turn into opportunities someday
Examples:
coding
cooking
animation
photography
entrepreneurship
sports
writing
Bonus Challenge
Ask:
“How could this skill help people or create opportunities?”
This introduces:
entrepreneurship
problem-solving
confidence-building
🧑 MIDDLE SCHOOL (Ages 11–14)
“Asset vs Liability Game”
Family Discussion
Ask:
Which things help people grow over time?
Which things only cost money?
Examples:

Real-Life Challenge
