Looking for something fun and meaningful to do with your children on Friday, September 18?
Join us for a FREE Cooking Up Literacy family experience at the Dacula Branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library.
No registration is required.
Parents, grandparents, caregivers, siblings, and children are all welcome to participate together as families read, sing, follow recipes, and create two delicious recipes during this one-hour experience:

“Can you read what we need to do next?”
That one simple question turns cooking into reading with a real purpose.
Children begin using literacy to understand directions, learn new words, follow steps, measure ingredients, and make something they can actually enjoy.
And when families do it together, learning becomes part of the memory.

On Digital Learning Day, we’re bringing that same idea to the Dacula Library.
One hour. Two recipes. Plenty of hands-on family fun.
Families will read, sing, mix, pour, layer, taste, and learn together while creating their own Blueberry Chocolate Chip Parfait and Lively Lemon Mint Water.
At Cooking Up Literacy, the recipe isn’t separate from the learning.
The recipe is part of the learning.
Children read it, talk about it, follow it, and use it to create something they can proudly enjoy with their family.
