Yesterday morning, our What’s Stirring National Nutrition Month gathering turned into a warm and meaningful experience for the families who joined us.
We welcomed four families, with three young children actively participating in the cooking activities, while another child arrived near the end of the session. The children ranged in age from 2 to almost 5 years old, creating a wonderful opportunity for our youngest learners to explore food, stories, and creativity together.
During the event, the children helped prepare two simple and healthy recipes: Lively Water and a yogurt parfait. With big smiles and curious hands, the little chefs proudly created their own treats.
One young participant loved her parfait so much she kept saying over and over how much she enjoyed it—an unforgettable moment that filled the room with laughter.
The morning also included stories, singing, and conversations about healthy eating, creating a joyful environment where families could learn and connect together.
One mom shared something that truly touched our hearts: “This is just what I wanted. I want to cook with my child.”
Moments like this reflect the heart of the What’s Stirring mission—helping families bond through food, learning, and shared experiences.
Families also received a complimentary copy of What’s Stirring: Fun, Food & Family thanks to the generous support of @hudsonfamilyfdn.
Even with a small group, the event was filled with big smiles, laughter, and meaningful family connections. We look forward to continuing to bring families together through stories, healthy foods, and joyful learning experiences.
