What's Stirring Family Foundation is proud to announce that we have been awarded funding through the Georgia State Physical Activity and Nutrition (G-SPAN) initiative to implement our project, "Grow, Taste & Take Home: A Farm to Early Learning Initiative."
The award, funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) G-SPAN Cooperative Agreement and administered by the Georgia Health Policy Center, will support efforts to bring hands-on nutrition education, gardening experiences, healthy food exploration, and family engagement opportunities to children and families at All Our Children Childcare Academy.
Through this initiative, children will have opportunities to learn where food comes from, participate in age-appropriate gardening activities, taste healthy foods, and engage in experiences that encourage lifelong healthy habits. Families will also receive resources and take-home activities that reinforce healthy eating and learning beyond the classroom.
"We are honored to receive this funding and grateful for the opportunity to partner with All Our Children Childcare Academy and G-SPAN to create meaningful learning experiences for young children and their families," said Daneell Moore, Ph.D., Program Lead for What's Stirring Family Foundation.
The project will be implemented during the June 2026–June 2027 grant period and aligns with the Foundation's mission of strengthening families through education, health, literacy, and community engagement.
We thank G-SPAN, the Georgia Health Policy Center, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for investing in healthier futures for Georgia's children and families.
